Week Two
I have an idea for a game that I want to make, it sorta starts back over the summer. (Sean I really hope you don't mind any colloquialisms that I incorporate in my blogs). I am an avid printmaker, taking my 4th printmaking class in as many semesters this spring, and over the summer i came up with the idea of having a french public execution (with a guillotine) portrayed by rats and instead of a guillotine they use a mouse trap. For this print i need to find a way to draw a rat so I started drawing lots of grimey lookin rats. For some reason i liked drawing these rats so after the project was due i continued drawing them. I have been working on a sketch of a rat smoking a cigarette and I thought it would be funny to make a game about a rat that lived in a cigarette factory and was addicted to cigarettes and the goal for the rat was to get to the cigarettes at the end of the level, or game. I played a game this week called "castle wars", which was a turned based card game where the players aimed to destroy the opponents castle. It was alright, no interesting animations, just good coding (i think), but it was fun because you could play against somebody if you wanted to.

Week One
In my endless search to find the perfect way to waste time instead of actually do work I have stumbled upon quite a few online 2D flash games that I have found entertaining and worthy of my time spent on them. I have encountered many different types of games and I am not sure what type I would like to design for the class. One of my favorite 2D games (even though it isn't exactly 2D is Abe's Odyssey for the Playstation 1 (anybody know what I am talking about?). It is a side scrolling game that incorporates puzzles to progress through the levels. I would like to design a game that has a similar concept to that.
