GDD
For my final project I want to perfect and expand on my second project, which is still giving me bugs, and I have not been able to fix completely yet. In this expansion of my second project there will me 3 levels added, cut scene movies between each level and an actual story line that the character will follow instead of just running from one side of the level to the other. The level and button configuration design will remain the same, but I want to have more types enemies, which reflect the specific levels.

Week...9 (maybe)
For the second project I am finally doing my cigarette smoking rat side scrolling game. I am thinking of making the enemies other addictions, I think that that would be a very good message, especially if the enemies are crack and heroin. It is kind of a sick sense of humor but hopefully people will appreciate it... hahaha a rat that is so addicted to cigarettes if it doesn't get them it resorts to other, more harmful addictive drugs. I don't even know what message I am trying to send, because I am not opposed to smoking cigarettes (or crack for that matter) its just not something I do too frequently (talking about the cigarettes not the crack). I guess my message is to people to lighten up and see the humor associated with addiction.... god i'm an ass

Weeks 4 and 5
did a lot of work last week on a load scene, but it looks like I am going to be changing my idea because I wanted to have my game be a side scroll, and we haven't learned that yet. I was thinking of doing a game where the character is fat as hell and you have to avoid falling cupcakes and the character gets thinner/faster.

WeeK T(h)ree
so it's like four and a half hours until we have class and i'm gonna be there on time sean, no worries. I have been having trouble with the uploading of my work, but it has been done. I know that for my first project i am going to be going through with my rat idea and make it a side scrolling game sorta like Super Mario Bros. I've been having trouble thinking what i am going to make the enemies (if any) or if it will just be obstacles... regardless, the goal is definetly cigarettes cause this rat is a fiend.

Week Two
I have an idea for a game that I want to make, it sorta starts back over the summer. (Sean I really hope you don't mind any colloquialisms that I incorporate in my blogs). I am an avid printmaker, taking my 4th printmaking class in as many semesters this spring, and over the summer i came up with the idea of having a french public execution (with a guillotine) portrayed by rats and instead of a guillotine they use a mouse trap. For this print i need to find a way to draw a rat so I started drawing lots of grimey lookin rats. For some reason i liked drawing these rats so after the project was due i continued drawing them. I have been working on a sketch of a rat smoking a cigarette and I thought it would be funny to make a game about a rat that lived in a cigarette factory and was addicted to cigarettes and the goal for the rat was to get to the cigarettes at the end of the level, or game. I played a game this week called "castle wars", which was a turned based card game where the players aimed to destroy the opponents castle. It was alright, no interesting animations, just good coding (i think), but it was fun because you could play against somebody if you wanted to.

Week One
In my endless search to find the perfect way to waste time instead of actually do work I have stumbled upon quite a few online 2D flash games that I have found entertaining and worthy of my time spent on them. I have encountered many different types of games and I am not sure what type I would like to design for the class. One of my favorite 2D games (even though it isn't exactly 2D is Abe's Odyssey for the Playstation 1 (anybody know what I am talking about?). It is a side scrolling game that incorporates puzzles to progress through the levels. I would like to design a game that has a similar concept to that.
